To the Valley Today

Mary and I are driving out to the Matanuska-Susitna Valley this morning (Mat-Su). I have an appointment with a company I'm subcontracting with in the morning, and then a client meeting in the afternoon. Getting started with a strategic planning process.

Mary's will meet our friends, Sarah and River Bean (Arctic Organics) at the Vagabond Cafe and Coffee Shop in Palmer. After lunch we will drive to Wasilla to meet the client.

Clear and continuing cold!

Letting Go and Letting God

Today I'm working on letting go, and letting God work in my life and in the lives of others. No control. Been working on this for way too long.

Prayers for Inner Peace

I open my heart to You, dear God, and let Your peace fill my being. In Your presence, I am peaceful, poised, confident and strong.

I relax in Your loving care, dear God, and release all my cares to You, knowing that You are upholding me and sustaining me in all that I do.

As I keep my heart and mind centered in You, God, I feel Your peace infusing my entire being and keeping me serene and secure.

To You, beloved God, I release all sense of turmoil. In the comfort of Your presence, I am content and peaceful.

God, Your presence calms me, quiets the storms around me, and leads me to a place of perfect peace. As I center myself in Your peaceful presence, I let go of every concern and relax in the safety of Your love.

A Great Prayer

From Renaissance Unity:
Giving Love
"Holding on to resentment is like taking poison and hoping the other person will die."
~Carolyn Myss

Today's Affirmation
I loose you and let you go to your highest good.

Today's Meditation
Dear Friend,

Visualize the person or situation you wish to forgive and take this affirmation treatment as your own healing truth:
I loose you and let you go.
I now fully and freely release you.
All that has happened between us is complete, now and forever.
I free you to God within you and I free myself to God within me.
I free you to your highest good and I free myself to my highest good.
Feel the freedom your soul has been craving. Liberate your soul!
And so it is.

Amen

Time for Reasonable Debate and Dialogue

Got an email from a friend today. It was a joke about one of the candidates for the Presidency and the Rose Garden. It was a sick and foolish joke to pass along. My friend is a long time family friend, and was very protective of me as a young man growing up in Montana. I responded, and I was clear that I was not happy with the joke. I got a response and we now have a new level of understanding, or I hope we do.

I'm a big fan of John McCain, but am voting for Barack Obama. I'm a registered independent, but am tired of the religious right and the neocons having their day. It's time for moderation, and bipartisan leadership. Attacks by Bush operatives who helped get us into many of the messes we're in today,  and the negative and destructive political ads are not needed. We need to address the issues, not who is wearing a lapel pin. It's time to question policies and approaches to critical issues facing our country and world. Questioning Obama's loyalty, asserting he is a Muslim (as if that is a crime in and of itself), and even if he is Black enough (yeah, he gets it from many sides), are all attempts to derail his candidacy.

The past eight years have been filled with great opportunities and challenges. We need to do better.

Go Obama!

I'm so excited about Barack Obama's candidacy. James Dobson's recent tirade on a two year old speech Obama made has me even more convinced the religious right is losing it's long held grip on the political landscape. Good! It's time for moderation, not extremism. What have we gotten for the past eight years? You don't need for me to tell you. Wake up America! Let's go Obama!

Billary - Not for Me!

Over the past week I've lost a lot of respect for former President Clinton for his unsavory and unwarranted attacks on Barack Obama. In my view the former President, due to his fear that Hillary is losing the battle, came to her defense, and has employed the kind of Washington political tactics that many Americans are fed up with.

The former President has been chided by both parties and seems to be backing down. In one interview he said that during his campaigns he didn't care what people said about him. No only do I find that difficult to believe, I think it's disingenuous. A politician that doesn't care about what people say about him just isn't listening.

It's time we change direction in this country. The Bush dynasty hasn't worked, and I feel a Clinton dynasty would fare no better. I really believe Senator Obama has what it takes to not only unite factions within our own country, but can do so globally. His unique background and experiences would serve us well.

Into the Swing ! it is all so very GRAND !

Here we are......this is a site created for those most dear to us!   We will be trying to keep up with ourselves, & with you, sharing the joys (and maybe challenges; is shoveling snow a joy?) of life in Alaska, perhaps enticing some of y'all to come up and see us.

We will show off our kids and GRANDkids, and our condo, garden, fun times with friends, vacation....oh, did I say GRANDkids?  On our next post we will introduce you to Jack, his sister McKayly and cousins Justus and Lyra.  Then, perhaps by this weekend, a few Wagner babies.......3 last year, and 3 coming soon.
